Facebook video sits behind the browser cross-origin wall, and a server would fetch it from the server address, not yours. So this runs as a small extension inside your own browser: it finds the media on the page and saves it over your own connection.

Install the .zip

  1. 1. Unzip the file.
  2. 2. Open chrome://extensions.
  3. 3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. 4. Load unpacked, and choose the unzipped folder.

The .zip and Load unpacked is the reliable path. Recent Chrome refuses a .crx dropped from disk; the .crx is there only for browsers that still take one.

Then use it

  1. 1. Open the page with the video.
  2. 2. Press play so the stream loads.
  3. 3. Click the Cyber24 mark.
  4. 4. Pick the media and press Save.

Public content only. On YouTube, choose a combined entry for video and sound in one file. Video-only, audio-only, and adaptive streams are labelled separately.
